I've been using Eclipse and ADT with the Android SDK for a while - version 1.6. Then I upgraded to version 1.7, and nothing works as it should anymore. Although, I'm not certain that the problems are related to upgrading the SDK, since I also installed a couple of AVD's at the same time.
I used to be able to connect a project to an AVD (virtual device) in Eclipe, and then after it was started, every time I ran the project it ran on that device. So the device was just running "in the background" of my other windows, and I just activated it when I wanted to see the run result.
Now, every time I run the same project a new AVD is loaded and started, which makes it completely useless since it takes several minutes for an AVD to start. Also, I run the project very often, and having to close the AVD after every run is a killer.
Also, the size of the AVD now seems to be set at a permanent value, filling more than the screen, and no matter what dimensions I chose for it in the settings it's still the same size and resolution. Creating a new AVD with specific screen size/resolution and pointing the project to this makes no difference at all - the same gigantiv AVD is started no matter how many rebuilds and restarts I do.
Any ideas? Is the 1.7 version of the Android SDK completely ******ed, or is there something wrong with my installation of the SDK, Eclipse or the ADT? Any hints/suggestions are appreciated. I've even uninstalled the SDK and ADK completely, deleting any files, rebooted the machine and done a new installation. Things are still messed up.
