Eclipse AVD Reliability

I would like to test the app GUI look and feel for the Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 devices.

I'm able to build these AVD's in eclipse. Is the AVD reliable?

I can't afford to purchase these devices to do a real test.

Thanks in advance.
