Root Eclipse vs Broken Out?

I like the performance of BO better, but I love the built-in screenshot feature of Eclipse. Is there anyway I could get that on BO?
That screenshot is built into the stock rom, so stock, Eclipse and BO all have that feature, since they're all based off stock.

Power button + Home at the same time will get you a screenshot in any of the current Spec roms.

eclipse has a screenshot option in the menu when you hold the power button down. I think that may be specifically what he is refering to.

Ohh, yea I forgot it has that. That's a Cyanogenmod feature that I always loved. A lot easier than the dual button method (and easier to discover exists).

eclipse .2 v6 port is buggy as hell and BO3.0 is awesomeness incarnate, IMO. After you add golauncher EX that is. It'll take an excellent ICS rom to boot me from BrokenOut. Also,
I tried the Razr Maxx OTA version of ICS from VZW and I came away unimpressed.
So no OTA for me either, if and when it ever shows up.

I don't think the regular razr version of ICS would be any different than the maxx, but my wife's razr has ICS on it and we both like it. She loves the menus and how smooth it is. I like the look of it as well and am excited to get it on the Spectrum, especially with the developers doing work on it. Her razr is rooted, and the bloat is frozen and that's all. Her razr lasts much much longer on a charge than her Spectrum did, and she uses them the exact same amount. Not sure if ICS has that much better battery life, or maybe the razr has a bigger batter? Either way, I am impressed with ICS, but I am also very happy with my Spectrum on BO 3.

Question for you Jlove, my wife put golauncher on her Spectrum and it made it wig out, really laggy, jumpy, etc. I'm assuming it hasn't done that to your's since you like it with golauncher. Have you noticed anything funny with how your phone acts with golauncher than without?

My wife commented that she likes how smooth ics is on her razr, but she thinks her battery life is worse. I'm not sure that's the case but it's her perception.

Who knows lol, mine says it's much better, she also had go launcher and a bunch of other gostuff on her spectrum that she doesn't have on her razr yet. She likes the phone the way it is for now, she was the same way with her spectrum for a few weeks. Like I said, her razr is rooted, and the bloat is frozen with titanium backup, and that's it. So maybe having those other goapps on the phone drained her battery faster?

After three days of eclipse I went back to BO3. It started off good. No cardock.apk random BS to deal with (yes I deleted it, it still pops up for me). Then it started getting hot, and cardock started to show up. It got very hot, I even put it in the freezer for a few minutes. Heated back up, locked up and restart about 4 times while trying to text or play a game. Data wipe, BO3. I can't get n7 to install now, but I guess I'll live with that.

as far as golauncher is concerned, I ran it on the stock V6 and it went well, so I naturally replaced LG home with it. After I went to BO3 I kept it. Now this is GoLauncher EX, and I only use a few of the goapps like powermaster, but the GOsms client scares me since it routes thru chinese servers for sms backup etc. When I switched over to Eclipse, the ADW launcher was familiar to me since I had a HTC incredible with several roms that had ADW. However, the overheating issue plagued me as well, as well as I didn't notice any performance difference but more bugs.

And when I meant I wasn't impressed with ICS on the Razr maxx, I just meant that there wasn't anything that I had to have, and I get excellent battery life. Especially since I use WIFI at home, 4G service doesn't start until I go to work 30 miles away...ICS looks like it will make an excellent base for ROMs however.

My wife who never likes any changes went from 2.3.3 HTC Evo 4G shift to 4.04 Droid 4, and tells me several times per week how happy she is with it and how fast her phone is. Sad thing is she gets about the same amount of battery life
