Eco 3D and Sprint Hot Spot When On A Carrier Besides Sprint

I have an HTC Eco 3D that was previously on sprint. I now have it activated on straight talk. What I want to know is there any way to make the sprint hot spot work?

The hotspot is the phone, not the carrier. It's like asking if you can get the Sprint Maps to work when you run that phone on ST.

The problem is that if ST catches you tethering, your phone goes dead. That's a violation of their TOS, and they cancel your account.

Can it be done technically? Sure, as long as the hotspot app works on that phone. (It's installed as a system app, not as a user app, but it's still just an app.)

The sprint hotspot app checks whether or not you have hotspot on your account.

Naturally if you don't have sprint the hotspot won't work.

There's plenty of non-carrier related hotspot apps on the play store. If you're rooting, give one of those a shot

However if your not rooting, Klink (USB tether) is very good and doesn't eat through data as foxfi or any wifi tether would.
