Edit previous searches on list?

I feel dumb, but I can't work out how to edit the previous search entries to use them for new searches. Do I really have to type the same stuff over again just to add or remove a space, etc?

On the Eris you can use the trackball to cursor down to the search you're interested in, then press the trackball to edit it. Not sure if that's on option on your device or not.

Cant seem to do it on the desire. If you hold it for a while, you can select the text and copy it to paste it if its from a browser..

Or select the search and stop it (if you mean a google search) to edit.

All a pain.

Oh joy! I've found how to do it - very simple really, you use the optical trackball. Brushing down across the trackball when the previous searches are displayed selects each one in turn and displays it in the search box.

I've been neglecting the optical trackball, but it does also make editing easier...

Thanks mhotovec, you were spot on.
