Editing playlist

I want to edit the playlists the music player app creates on something with a keyboard and mouse -it's very long winded doing it on the phone.

Is there any way I can get AT the playlist data file to edit it, and does anyone know anything about the format?

Or failing that suggest an alternative music player that lets me do this?

Slowly I'm getting the hang of these Androids, but it does make me appreciate Windows somewhat which was organised logically to my mind, until somebody started playing around with that and added libraries.

Make a playlist on your PC using Winamp or Windows media player, then sync the playlist to your device.

Given my love-hate relationship with Google Play Music, I'm not sure if I should be recommending it, but after you upload all of your music to its cloud, you can create playlists on music.google.com and they automagically show up on any linked device.
