Edwin, Speech-to-Speech

I just found this new Speech-to-Speech program for Android called Edwin. It's pretty awesome!! You simply say or ask it a question and it will reply to you with the proper response.

Vlingo is good if you want to do a command or bring up the browser, etc but this program is good for quick results because it reads you back the answer/response without having to open up anything.

Yes... it needs to access the internet in order to get weather updates, etc. Plus, all voice command apps require data just to interpret your voice input.

LOL ... this is so fun to use! I can't believe how fast it responds. I especially like the "how do you spell ..." function. It's almost spooky how it works. I tested all the functions used in the video and it got everything, except I had a slightly different definition of a banana.

I can't seem to get any responses Voice input works very well, but Edwin doesn't talk back. All i get is some haptic feedback and that's it.

You may need to install text-to-speech. Check out the Help Menu and then Help & Tips. There are some suggestions in there.

It doesnt seem to 'open' or 'launch' non google apps on the htc desire, like astro, snesoid, adobe reader etc.?

other than that, its great.

Ever since the latest update, all edwin does for me is open a wolfram search for whatever I said. It's annoying. I'll re-install when they get rid of that awful function.
