Root el30 update

I keep getting a prompt that I have new software to install - EL30, I have a rooted epic without a custom ROM. is it ok to install this update? or will I brick my handset?

You wont be able to since you're rooted. You'll have to go to stock. Go to youtube and follow qbking77 vids. They are easy to follow.

Actually, there's an EL30 package for rooted phones...I think qbking77 is also responsible for it. I updated my rooted Epic this way.

You still can't do OTA, but this update will save you from having to go back to stock. I think I had to update my version of Clockworkmod, but aside from that, it was a smooth update.
