Root Elite app updates

Here is the app updates from the OTA.
It does not include anything except the 3 apps and matching odex files. Any app you update, you need the matching odex (at least until I get a round to deodexing, then you can install them as a normal APK).

These need to be copied to system/apps, which means you need a root file browser, which means you need root.

So I took the apks along with the odex files and pasted all 6 files into the system/apps folder and rebooted the phone. The files still do not show up in my apps. Am I missing something at all?

Did you use a file browser to go to the directory and install the apks?

Yes, I used file manager to place them their and the tried installing each apk. It told me install not successful each time.

do i need to update first? they would not copy to system/apps, nor would they install

you have to factory reset

I believe that is probably what sends the voicemail app and such once you finish registering.

They probably aren't sticking because we need to clear Dalvik.

Let me see if I can deodex them, then you can install them like a normal app or update, but give me a bit, I need to go kill some zombies first (L4D2).

Haha of course! You need to save the world before restoring order here I actually installed and rooted the entire zv5 update so I've got everything now.

Unfortunately, these refuse to deodex.
I'm working on a solution though.
