Elusive free e-books

I have a M009S android 4.0. It's a nice tablet but I can't get to grips with the process of downloading e-books, free ones particularly. I must be missing something. Kindle books refuses to accept my Amazon sign in, and other sources seem to hide on my approach. Tom:confused:
 
Hello and welcome to Android Forums! :)

I've never seen the Kindle app reject a valid login. It might be the wifi router you're connected through blocking a port that the Kindle app uses, but I'm just guessing at that because its sometimes see with Google Play.

Maybe the smart folks in General Tablet Talk - Android Forums could shed some light on your problem.
