Help Email app crashes when opening from notification bar

A few nights ago, I got an email indicating that my Note 3 could not sign into my Exchange email account. I immediately logged in via web browser to make sure my password was still the same, but I had been locked out. However, even when my AD account is locked (for whatever reasons), it never affects my Note 3 receiving email -- I can still refresh/send, etc.

I deleted the email account and waited for about 30 minutes for my account to unlock, and I was able to login just fine using the same password.

Now, any time I get an email for either my Exchange or my Gmail account (only have 2 email accounts added), I can't check my email by clicking on the actual email in the notification tray because it tells me that Email has closed unexpectedly.

However, if I go to the email app itself, everything is fine. If I remove my Exchange account, I can click emails from the notification tray just fine.

Can someone explain to me what could possibly be going wrong and how I can fix this? This is becoming very annoying.

Thanks.

When I try to open an sms from the notification, it never works first time, always second.
Apparently I'm not the only one, so possibly theres some bugs in the notifications

When did this start for you? My issue just started around Friday night.

Ever since I had the phone. I must admit when I got the phone there were a couple of small firmware updates to roll in, which I did before anything else, but it's always been on 4.3

Ah, interesting. Hopefully someone who had this issue and fixed it can post here soon :D

Which mobile network operator are you using and is your Note 3 the International or USA version?

There aren't any fixes for rare problems that nobody has heard of. The only option would be to Factory Reset if you don't feel that any of your installed applications are causing the problem.

For example if my menu button on my Note 3 stopped working (which I'm sure it won't and it is working perfectly) then there would be no fix because nobody experiences it so they can't offer any fix or solve.

Putting your phone in Safe Mode may help determine if any of the applications you have installed are causing the problem.

International SM-N9005 on o2 UK

Thanks for that, but more information still would be helpful. I'm presuming your on non branded firmware, by this I mean when you first switched it on it had no O2 apps or themeing on it. Don't worry if you can't remember or are not sure just dial *#1234# and tell us the CSC code. It could help others with your issue.

Unfortunately I have no idea. I maybe rooted (which won't make a difference) but my phone is the exact same model running plain vanilla Samsung (BTU) 4.3 firmware and I have no problems whatsoever accessing the stock email app from an email notification.

While undoubtedly true, the way you put it. It only takes a friendly member who has had the issue and either found a solution or worked it out themselves to post here. It can happen.
