Help Email app

I've had my phone for about a year or more and so far I can't figure out the email app that came with the phone. I keep getting a message saying "Log in Failed". This is very irritating because I get that message about 20 times a day (at least).
I have gmail already on my phone so what do I need this app for on my phone, especially since it doesn't even work and never has. Is there a way to get rid of it or fix it so I don't get those extremely irritating messages anymore?
Thanks

You could go into your app manager clear data and cache and disable it.
Thanks, I just tried that and it's hidden somewhere. It doesn't show up on the list. I guess they figure that you'd want to do that so they hide so you can't get rid of it.

I found it! I clicked the ALL tab and it was there along with about a hundred other apps I didn't know existed. I guess they snuck onto my phone somehow.
Anyway, I clicked "Force Stop" and cleared the cache just in case. So I hope I don't get that error message again.
Thanks

They didn't sneak into your phone. They've been there from the start. Just not installed by you but by the manufacturer.

Clearing the cache won't help you in this case, if you want to have the Mail app quit those log in error messages you need to tap that 'Clear data' button too.
