Email background color

New to android and cant figure this one out....

So I got an s3 about 2 weeks ago, I decided to leave the apple following. Any way, when I receive emails sometimes the email comes through blank. Or at least it appears that way, the background is black along with the writing so I cannot read what it written. I then hit the reply button, the background turns with and I can read the senders message. Is there a way to change this or am I stuck with this?

The only time I have seen this is when I have installed a custom ROM and the developer changed the background and foreground color. I tried then to find a way to change colors and I don't believe you can. Maybe there is an app that allows you to that someone else uses.

Is your phone maybe in Power Saving mode? I believe the stock email client will make the backgrounds black in Power Saving mode. It sometimes messes up emails I get via Exchange server for work.

Anyway, try turning off Power Saving mode to check if the backgrounds change.
