Help Email client

Let me try this another way...

I use Thunderbird on my Desktop.

Is there a simple email client for Android 4.1 that can do the important things TBird does but do them through my Samsung Galaxy SII phone?

One that will allow me to access my POP mail server from my phone?

That has at least a basic spam filter

That can send and receive attachments / photos?

That will leave mails on the server (sync?)

and that has a decent editor?

I don't need push I don't need groups, I don't need avatars...

I just need a decent way to access emails.

Aqua Mail is a super great app, but the filtering that you want has to be provided from the email server side.

As for the editor part, that is a big variable too... but, Aqua Mail has satisfied me well.

It has so many options, that are configurable for each email service, it will take you a week to make sure you have it just like you want it....

in its' basic, native format, it is a great email app. as you learn it, you will be turning on more and more of the options.

Thank you but i don\t think that will answer. I need an app that will access my POP account on my server.

I have Gmail on both my phone and my desktop and I don't see any way to make it access my POP account.

oh yes it does, it works for me.

AquaMail is an email app for Internet and Exchange mail, for Android 4.0.3 and higher.

Easy automatic setup for popular email providers:

Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, FastMail, Apple mail services (@me.com / @icloud.com), GMX, AOL, and more. Recognizes mail accounts hosted at Google Apps, Yahoo BizMail, and others.

Works with many other email services via standard Internet email protocols (IMAP, POP3, SMTP).

Oh! I found it in Gmail. I guess I'll have to try it and see how it works.

thing is I have Email client that I suspect came with the phone but it is not DL'ing email, that I know is there, from my POP server. It will send but I can't really check mail. Way I figured it, if there was an OEM client on the phone, there must be a good app out there that would be a little more functional.

The email apps that come with our phones need to be deep sixed.
I don't like any of them.

go work with Aqua mail, in about a week, you will wonder how you did without it.

It can be configured to be "ProActive" and get everything live, all the time, or Lazy as an old Dog, like me.... I have it configured to never do anything period until I open Aqua Mail, and then I open the server I want to see, and then I pull the screen down to get the new mail from "that server"..... I have it looking at 3 email servers... but none of them download anything until commanded to do so.

I hate Notifications with a Passion! I am retired, and the world can slide right on by me until I am ready to look at it... then that will be time enough for me to check things out.
