Email Delays and Unread Count Error

Been having an issue with email of the last couple of days.

The unread count will show me new emails. These do not appear in the mailbox for anywhere between 30 minutes and 1 hour, unless I manually sync.

When they do finally arrive the counter won't reset, once read, until I reboot the phone.

I'm only using the GMail app (Ver 2.3.2) and DeFrost.

Anyone else have this issue - know the solution?

Yes its the gmail app. I had to downgrade as teh app would mark read, but not sync back to the server, so The app showed all email unread and the unread count kept going up.


Had to revert to old version

Dropped back to 2.3 see how that goes.
 
how do you downgrade the gmail app? I havent been able to access my gmail on my phone all week..v.frustrating. i cant seem to uninstall or re install - please help - ive got a orange branded HTC desire with a 16gb mem card non rooted. Please could someone explain the deleteing data pros and cons on apps like facebook etc?
any help appreciated

Menu -> Search -> label: unread
That will find all unread messages in your gmail account

If message doesn't mark as "read" automatically, then Long Press on a message and "Mark as read"
 
thanks for that guys...have unsintalled updates and got my new emails. now to try nad free up some space on the phones internal memory...i need some guidnace on whats safe to delete and whats not? when i first got the phone i could mount the phone as a portable hard drive and copy all contents to pc, now it wont let me. any ideas how i can back up my media photos and songs etc to my pc - before i start deleting stuff?
 
still not working...connected as disk drive the error message reads: error copying file or folder cannot copy m830463df: cannot read from source file or disk. really frustrating as i cant view from the sd card separate from the phone either! it still reads from the sd card whilst on the phone so its not corrupted. any suggestions welcome..
