Email disapears on re sync

Hi
I have 2 Samsung Fame phones both identical
on mine the e mail works fine , i recieve new emails , i can read , delete etc
even when synced multipull times

on my wifes phone you can recieve a e mail , donot read it and when phone is resynced it is deleted ,

we have the same email provider ( Blueyonder on Virgin mobile ) and settings are all set to leave messages on server etc

when we use her computor to read the emails ( outlook ) emails are all there
we also have outlook set to leave on server as well

any idea ?

Both phones set as POP3 email accounts? ("Leave on server" doesn't make sense in IMAP.)

yes both phones are using pop3 , and server is set to never delete so messages remain until I manualy delete via my email account on server
