Email from Verizon. Double dats same price?

Anyone else get this email? Double your data same price. Call some number. Never got anything like that and been withVerizon nearly 12 years. Sounds fishy!

I was at 2GB. A few months ago they bumped it to 3GB. For being with them for a while they doubled it to 6GB. I am now getting 6GB for what I originally paid for 2GB.

Many carriers have offered this deal in the last month. :) Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS and a few others have doubled their data offers.

I have 3 after that bump from 2 and they are saying 6. Just seems weird to have to call some unknown number. Why not just do it like they did last time? Still not sure about it.

It's a 1-855 number? Never seen one of those for Big Red

Someone else posted on Android Central, you're not the only one who got it anyway :) Call them and see what they say, apparently they just ask you to confirm your phone number. Or just call regular CS and ask them if know about it or can at least verify it's not a scam thing.

Edit: You obviously don't want to give any truly personal info out, like a SS# or account passwords etc.

Not going to bother with it. Going to just upgrade my phone tomorrow and see if any such deals pop up again.

What plan are you on if you don't me asking? Thank you

I was bumped from 2 gB to 3 gB and have the Family Share Plan with 3 lines activated. Down from 6 lines... glad those others are paying their own way now. Whew! the expense....

Tried this a couple times with no luck. They tell me I need to be on an Edge plan. I'm on a traditional Family Share plan. Apparently, Verizon could care less about loyal customers. It's all about emptying my pockets.

You should have 3 gB now, right?

That is 50% more than you did have most likely. I have been on the Family Share Plan two years after converting from an Unlimited Plan on my personal phone. For me, it was simple $$ logic. Sometime during the past year, Verizon sent me an email stating I would have 3 gB now instead of the 2 gB I signed up for.

VZW pays attention to their customers, I've been with VZW now 20+ years and yes, they tend to follow the trends slower than T-Mobile or Sprint.... but they have been the single best coverage provider over the 20 years I have been with them. And they will typically give you a one time 'thank you' when you are talking to their Customer Service departments... I have had several $20 and $35 rebates applied to my account to waive off the upgrade fees. (you don't have a chance at that if you upgrade online only)

What's double of unlimited? :p
just a state of mind

I have 6gb and my other line (son) has still 2gb.

Ah, I note you keep your plans separate.... my daughter and I are both frugal and we share the 3 gB data package. Even so, our typical use per month is below 2 gB total.

We purposely don't use MobileData on the road unless we need the GPS mapping us, or we are searching for something we need to know. That way, we can have the important things and not pay too dearly for it.

No casual wasting data on the roads with us. We save that for WiFi at home or the hotel when on vacation.

I also called and went from 4G to 8G for the 4G price. A very nice promotion for sure.

I got a text offering to double my shareable data from 2 to 4gb. I've been back with them less than a month. I accepted the offer and it was applied to my account immediately.
