Email has stopped working

My email for some reason on my S4 has stopped syncing. everything is ticked. the only emails I get are exactly 1 year ago for 2 months. It wont give me any emails from today or next week last month..nothing at all from the past year etc. I have deleted the account and readded it but same again. I have tried changing the status for 1 day 1 month etc but nothing works. I did go online and there seemed to be a problem with Hotmail last night so I am not sure if this has anything to do with what happened on my S4. is anyone able to shed some light on this?

dude, I have a brand new Samsung galaxy s4- and I have a Hotmail account and the damn thing just keeps loading- it wont send or receive emails... im pissed and idk what to do.. ive deleted the account and cleared cache and data... ughhh
