Help Email Icon shows new email when there aren't any?

Hello, I just got a Galaxy Note and everything was fine, but now for some reason the email icon on the main/home screen as well as the social hub icon show one new email yet there aren't any emails at all? I have tried all the basics. re-start\re-boot, the olde battery pull, and nothing seems to fix this.
Any ideas?
