Help Email intermittent problems (stock)

Hi all,
First of all thanks for all the great threads and advice on here.

I cant find a problem similar to this so thought I should start a new thread.

Phone is 7100, on o2 in UK. Running stock (newcomer to android and love it so far). I have dabbled with gmail, and preferred the stock email, mainly for the ease of moving emails to different folders, it is a pain in gmail.

This last week on waking the phone in the morning when I click on email it will not connect to the account unless I either soft reset or pull battery. This morning I went into an email already on the phone and clicked show images, which it did fine and it seemed to fix the problem without the soft reset. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to fix it easily or is it just one of those things to get used to and hope a fix comes in an update.

I havent installed any new apps recently, and only have widgetsoid that could mess with settings, all other stuff on here is stock with a couple of games and lots of internet links.

Thanks
The Bus

Not really sure where I want to go with my questions here.
You said "this last week" which makes me ask was it working fine before?

Also you said "and only have widgetsoid that could mess with settings"..... so did you try uninstalling widgetsoid to see if it may be causing the problem you're having?

The last 4 days it has happened on wake in the morning. I havent tried disabling widgetsoid as it never caused a problem in the past. Its an option if I cant find any other reason.
Thanks

I've had some minor issues using the stock email app. Mainly when it's trying to refresh at times (it will be stuck and will not refresh). I generally disable either Wi-Fi or mobile data and re-enable it again. Then refresh the account emails. That seems to fix it. Only to have it happen again later on. Though it only happens with my Yahoo and GMail accounts. Happens at random times, which makes it difficult to figure out what's causing it. I can only think it might be networking issues.

No problem today, but then I turned it on away from home. I use plane mode at night as I dont want to be woken up, and dont lose any battery because of it. Only started doing that with this phone and keep forgetting to turn it to normal when I get up.

I will try turning mobile data off and on again to see if it fixes it should it happen again. Never had it happen after normal use, only when starting the phone up in a morning.
