Email notification icon says it's Clash of Lords, won't clear

I have an HTC Wildfire S on Vodafone. Today what looks very like an email notification icon appeared, but when I check the notifications rather than there being a mail notification it says "Clash of Lords - World domination is yours!". When I click on the 'Clear' button, all other notifications clear, but this one doesn't. The icon is an envelope, very like the normal email notification icon, but just a bit bigger. I've checked my emails, and I haven't received any about Clash of Lords.

I reckon it's a dodgy link so I haven't clicked on it. I'd just like to be able to get rid of it - I've tried powering off and on again, but it's still there.

Turned out it was being caused by the Super Compass app from Lantean- I just uninstalled the running apps one by one until the notifications went away. Lots of other users are having similar problems with this app - it's uninstalled now and the problem is solved.
