Email notifications

1. I don't use Gmail, I use the Email app.
2. Since I had the phone, it hasn't been notifying me of emails. If I tap on the Email icon and start the app, it will pull the emails for each of my accounts when I select it, but if the app is not active, I get no notifications.
3. I have Email notifications switched on in the General preferences; I have it switched on for each of the accounts; I have a nice loud ringtone selected and switched on; I have (I saw this elsewhere) Settings>Data usage>Settings>Auto sync data on; I have both accounts set up for Sync every 10 minutes peak and 30 minutes off-peak; I have blocking mode on for 1am to 7am each night only; pressing the Sync icon after pulling down the Notifications bar shows a green light next to the Email icon; I've switched the phone on and off again.

Has anybody please got any idea why I get no notifications? I get them just fine for text messages, but not email.

I've experienced this one time, since I've had the Note 2 and the solution I found was to completely delete the accounts from the phone and then load them back up. I know this is a pain in the butt to do, but that's the only solution I was able to come up with.

At least your emails are sync'ing when you go in to do it manually. The issue I was having was that the accounts weren't sync'ing at all, and I didn't realize it.

I have had the same problem going on the last week or so now. I have had the phone since the day it came out and never had any issues with email notifications. I have the timing set to check automatically every 5 minutes and notifications on, but it will not check email... unless of course I click on the email app and click the manual refresh button. THen it checks them. I guess I can delete them and re-add them as suggested, but it's just weird that all three accounts just stopped checking email at the same time.

Welcome to the forums, killerdc.

It's separate accounts, but it's one app with its service clusters doing the syncing.. thus the issues.

Drexappeal's suggestion to re-do the set up is spot on. That seems to be true for many syncing widgets in Android.

What Drex suggested is what worked for me as well in the past. Since then I've been having issues in retrieving my Yahoo mail so much so that I decided to close my Yahoo accounts and open another Gmail account.
