Help Email pictures not working

I need some help.

I'm on Verizon service, have the Razr Maxx ver 2.3.6, just got it last week.

All my emails are working to all my work and home accounts, gmail, yahoo, aol and private but when I try to email a picture, the Outbox message comes up that it could not send it after say an hour, I hit resend and still nothing.

I downloaded a picture editor app to resize the pics, figuring the 1meg pics shot in 6mp mode are too large, so I shrunk the jpg down to like 60kb and it is still not sending.

If I'm on my pc and email a pic to my email as an attachement, I can receive, view and save it on the cell phone but cannot send a pic out.

I'm on Wi-Fi at work and home and no matter what I try, it's still not sending.

My previous cell phone was a data phone and I had no issues with the same accounts.

Any help here would be great as I'm at a loss and don't know what setting I'm overlooking or if it's a phone issue.

Thanks.

To add to the above, if I send the pic to my photobucket account it works it but it still will not send to an email. It's killing me.

Try installing the actual standalone Gmail app, and using that to send. It will pop up in the choices you get when you touch the upload icon.
I never liked the delivered email app.

You da best!

Looks like Gmail app was already pre-installed on my phone, so I used it, added a pic as an attachement and it worked!

I also used a txt and attached a pic, that also worked!

So it looks like it's the crappy "regular" email app that is the problem, time to dump it and find an alternative.

Thank you. :D

You can "hide" all annoying apps from your app list, isn't that nice?

I think you may be the first person I've given an answer to. :D

Also, while viewing the pic, press menu button and then the "share" icon, looks like two arrows, and then you should see a list of options to send the pic.

Thanks, yup that's what I've been doing as well, the 2 arrows!

Looks like I'm not the only one having issues with that default "email" app on the phone. I spoke with my friend who has a Samsung Gal 4s from AT&T and he had the same issue, once he dumped that default "email" app all his issues went away as well.

I've had an Android phone for over 2 years. I have never been able to stomach the stock email app. It has some decent features, but for a daily driver, gmail is it, hands down!
