Help Email problem

I just got my new Samsung Note 5, and love it compared to my Samsung Galaxy S4. The problem I'm having is after I set up my email accounts in Gmail (1 Gmail, 2 POP3, 1 IMAP), they can receive mail, but the sent folder is empty on all my accounts. There is sent emails in the respective servers, and they showed up on my Galaxy S4.
I have been to Verizon Level 3 support, have Google'd till I'm bleeding, and even went back to the Verizon store. They got nothing. It's not a deal breaker, but it's just WEIRD!!!!
Before anyone asks, if I send a message from my phone, it does show up in the sent folder. But, on one of my POP3 accounts, there are over 200 emails in the sent folder, and none of them show up, even if I refresh.
I've also tried the native email client, and even went back and tried K9 email client. They all do the same thing!!
The only difference I can see is that the Note 5 is Lollipop, and the Galaxy S4 is KitKat. But, you would think that they wouldn't take away a feature like that in a new version of the OS.
Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Sent folder for the POP3 account is storing the 200 emails locally on your GS4 rather than on the mail server. That is the way that POP3 works. That is why it is better to use IMAP if given the choice.

I understand that's how POP3 works. I have the email server set up to never delete messages, and there are 200 emails still out on the email server in the Sent folder. So, my question still is, why is the S4 showing them, and the Note 5 is not?

It's exactly as FishenFool said. You see the Sent mail on the S4 because copies are stored locally, on the phone. You cannot see them on the Note 5 because there is no local copies on the phone. There are no sent copies on the server. They exist only on the S4.

And he is correct that IMAP is almost always a better choice than POP3. IMAP syncs everything to all computers and devices, does instant Push downloads and notifications, etc.

Yes, there are sent copies on the server. I have all my devices to NEVER delete messages off the server. They are still on the server. The server is one that is hosted for me, and I can go look on the server, and see that there are still 200 messages out on the server in the Sent folder. To confirm that fact, I just called my hosting provider, and had them go look into the Sent folder for that email account, and he confirmed that there are 200 messages there.
So, the S4 is pulling COPIES of what is in the Sent folder, and the Note 5 is saying there is nothing there.

You must be looking at mail on the server that has been sent TO you, not mail sent FROM you. That is possible, yes.

It is NOT possible for the S4 to get copies of mail you have sent from the server. POP3 simply is not capable of that. It cannot sync mail folders like IMAP. IOW, mail sent from the phone exists only on the phone. POP3 is incapable of saving a copy to the server.

A simple Google search or visit to Wikipedia will find plenty of information and better explanations than I can give here.

I am looking at mail that I have sent to other people. And, POP3 is capable of doing that. It does it on my PC in Outlook all the time. It is possible for my S4 to get copies of mail on my email server because every phone I have had until now has done it.

I have deleted my account on Outlook on my PC which destroys all received emails, reset up the account, and it populated my sent folder from my email server.

So, POP3 can retrieve email from my server, but apparently my Note5 using Lollipop can't.

I also realize that IMAP is a better solution than POP3, but my web hosting provider doesn't provide IMAP support for my personal email accounts.

You are looking at copies saved locally on the computer, not on the server.

There's 2 possible explanations for that:
1. The Sent folder remained on the PC and you're just seeing the same stuff or...
2. It's an IMAP account.

It can retrieve mail. It cannot write mail you send to a Sent folder on the server. POP3 is effectively a read-only system. And it has no real concept of folders.

Well, they should. It's 2015, not 1998.
