Email Problems after update

Hello all. I have had problems with my android email app after updating my phone. I do not get notifications when an incoming email arrives. It only refreshes when I open the app. It's the standard app which came with the phone.
Also there is no option in my settings for 'interval retreival'. I have missed out on much business emails because of this situation. Updated to 4.1.1version.
Can anyone help me on this matter? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I too am not getting my email from my AOL account. It didn't happen iimmediately afterJJellybean, but the next day. It says the username or password is incorrect, but I know it is correct . I can't delete the account and restore it without resetting the whole phone.

Any ideas?
 
Go to settings then accounts - you will be able to remove the AOL account from there.

Check that Sync is on, go to the notification panel then scroll to the right and make sure sync is on :)
 
Thanks guys, but unfortunately it didn't work. Going into settings and accounts and then deleting, didn't work. It comes back with a prompt that says 'deleting accounts failed, restoring accounts failed'. It seems as if it can't get to the server. Yet any mail app I download and then set up with the same email address (aol.com), user name and password , has no issues.

I can't understand why the same address can't be accessed by the default email app and insists my user name or password is incorrect. Very frustrating.
 
Same problem here. I did a hard factory reset. After the main set-up, I tried to add my Yahoo! mail. I got a Cannot connect to server and another error : 503 10102 LDAP lookup failed. It won't allow me to add the email, when in fact i was working up until the reset.
