Root Email removal

Just loaded K9 to use instead of the stock email program. Installed K9 with ease and now pulls all my emails.
Since my phone is rooted, I froze the stock email to see if the phone did not any issues and so far so good.
My question is, is it safe to now remove (delete) the stock email without issue?
When I attempt to delete it, I get the standard warning about removing the /system/app/email.apk file that could cause the phone not to work.

Am I correct in thinking that since it has been frozen for a while with no issues, is it now safe to remove completely from the phone.

Also, can I run K9 from the SD card without issues.

Is the same true for messaging? I use GO SMS and froze the stock messaging app. Is it also safe to remove?

At one time i ran k9, and i removed the email and gmail apps with zero problems.
Since then i have gone back to the stock apps.....just restored them from a backup.
Proceed without fear.....but maintain your backups....just in case.

Thanks.
I deleted (after backing up) the email and some other stuff that I had frozen for some time.
It always worries me when a warning message pops up saying removal could brick the phone!

I do get an error pop up that has something to do with My Verizon, but the screen goes away too fast to read. Not worried as its just more Verizon crap.
