Help Email set up problem

Hi,
I have just made the change after 5 years from a Blackberry to a Galaxy S3. So far so good. However, I have a problem that was never a problem with the BB.
I used to receive emails on my BB, which I could read or delete on the handset. When I got home I could open MS OUTLOOK and dowload the email properly, and it was then saved on my home PC for future reference. This act would delete the email off the server.

Now when I read an email on my S3 it remains on the server, but is not downloaded by OUTLOOK. What setting do I need to change and in what program, platform or server to get my original set up.

I only want to use my phone to read emails. I want my home PC to download them from the server EVEN if they have been read on my phone.

My mail server is VIRGIN.NET
My OUTLOOK is set on POP3
the server is "mail.virgin.net"

My phone email client is K9 mail
Sync server deletions is unchecked
When I delete a message is set to "do not delete on server"
Download headers is checked
Incoming mail server is set to POP3 server "mail.virgin.net"
Port 110

Any help gratefully received

OK, I managed to solve it. Needed to set the phone to IMAP not POP.
Hope this helps anyone else out there with this issue.

Yeah POP3 doesn't synchronise changes made on other devices Very well. with a blackberry using BIS, its essentially using IMAP.
