Help email set up question

I was able set up my phone to get my Charter email. the problem is my phone does not log off the server afterward, so I cannot get my email on my desktop. I receive and error saying my inbox is unavailable. is there a setting to have the phone log off after checking the server?

don't tell me that I asked the "unanswerable question" nobody has any ideas.
