Email Showing as plain text

I have three accounts linked to my email app, one gmail and two hotmail. When ever i look at any email in the app it is shown in plain text, no images just text and links highlighted blue. The only way i can see the email in full is to scroll to the bottom and click (show all details).
Is there a way i can set (Show all details) by default as the emails look awfull in plain text view. Please can anyone help.

Try going into settings and enabling "Show images" and "size to retrieve emails" to "All". That should make some difference I think but keep in mind that it will slowly eat away at your data allowance (there's also auto download attachments when on wifi)

I have had this problem (hotmail not sure about gmail)
it started with blackberries and then the droids fixed most of it but I had the droid 1 and droid x (same problem with both) and was very tempted to get this phone (almost did at least 5 times to preorder)
I now have a Xoom 1 tablet with the latest 4.04 ICS and would you believe, still to this day, some of my HTML emails still do not show as HTML, but show as text just like you:mad::mad::mad: (now I'm not shure that any of your HTML emails show as HTML, but only some of show as text)

Not only that to top it off when I delete emails on my xoom sometimes they do not delete on my hotmail server and I use my iPhone or computer to delete them.

Yes I have and iPhone 4s at the moment and I have to say IT JUST WORKS!

It may not have some of the fancy stuff droids have but it works and it is jailbroken also so I have some stuff droids have and stuff droids dont.

I would be very pleased if someone could help on this and then maybe I would switch my phone back, but I cant believe android is at 4.XXX and still to this day we are having these problems, email of all yet.

You can set it up to download the whole message every time but depending on your data plan, this could be wasteful. I do two things:

1. I've set my Hotmail account to allow the downloading of pictures.
2. I've also set it to load the first 2k of each message.

Then, if it's clearly a HTML message being displayed as plain text, I flick down to the bottom of the email and click the "load more details" button conveniently placed there. It then takes a couple of seconds for the email to be rendered properly.

I hope that helps.

I scroll to the bottom and press 'show more'. It then says at top 'show images'. I find it better as I get a lot of spam and marketing emails that I don't need to see everything.
