Email sync HELP!

Lurker
Recently switched from older BB Curve to Droid X and love the thing but terrible probs w/email. I'm no techie and can't solve. Needs are simple - use email heavily for biz and as travel much have used web-based email service, Crosslink.net (or NuNet), for a million years. Do not use Outlook or calendars, just email. Need to be able to delete mssgs on server when deleting from phone, as BBM did flawlessly. 1st prob was emails not sending at all, and after scouring forums set outgoing server to smtp.gmail.com, Port 465, w/Use Secure Connection & Verify Certificate checked. Email now sending but of course now replies coming from Google email (I understand you must have Google acct for phone to work) and NOT deleting from Crosslink server as I delete from phone. This is a freaking nightmare. Have THREE days left on 14-day return/exchange. Will break my heart to dump the Droid but this relationship too dysfunctional. APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL HELP!!!

Welcome to the Android Forums!

I did a quick Google search and found the following tech support page for setting up Crosslink email:

What Are My Email Server Settings? - CrossLink Internet

It looks like your outbound email settings should specify the server as "smtp2.crosslink.net" with authentication checked and using your Crosslink username and password.

I believe that it's not typically possible to configure the stock email app to delete email messages from the server. For that level of functionality look at a third party email app like K9 mail.
