Help Email sync up

Hey folks, same problem here: had POP3 set up, changed to IMAP - using Galaxy S III stock email client - on my hosted email account and it doesn't sync properly. Server-to-phone works as expected (if you delete on server, it deletes on phone), but phone-to-server does NOT. You delete on phone, but once you refresh email, the deleted emails reappear.

I spent a pointless and useless half-hour with Samsung "tech" support on chat. I re-did everything on the phone, including deleting/re-adding account, wiping cache and data on Email app after deleting the account and before re-adding, doing soft reset of phone (removing battery). Same behavior occurred after I re-added account every time. I then REALLY proved it by downloading K-9 Mail and setting up IMAP. Works exactly like it should, syncing both ways. So the problem is definitely with Samsung's app.

After wasting my time on chat, the "tech" there said for me to call the voiceline for "advanced" support, which probably means they'll want me to do a hard reset - because, after all, it couldn't POSSIBLY be a problem on Samsung's end... Here is the number if you'd like to call and barrage them with enough noise until they admit it and fix it: 1-888-987-4357, Mon-Fri: 7 AM - 9 PM (CST), Sat: 9 AM - 6 PM (CST)

tkamil, I like your answer above, could you please help me with this:

I have 3 emails, a Gmail, a Hotmail and a POP3 (which could be set up as IMAP or other protocol). I use Outlook 2010 on my PC to get emails from all 3 accounts. I want to get the emails on my Samsung Galaxy S III (Verizon) and would like to see the same thing as I do on my Outlook.

I downloaded Android-Sync to sync my phone with my PC

I've read this thread all the way up to your reply, but when I try to remove my e-mail account from my Galaxy S3, I received the following message:

Delete Account?

Account is needed by some apps. You can only remove it by resetting device to factory defaults (which deletes all personal data). To do this go to Settings > Backup and reset [OK]

When I tried to add another account using the same user ID and password under another (non-Yahoo account, such as "Corporate", I received a message that the account is already in use.

Don't know what to do!

Hello and welcome to Android Forums, bkennington.

I've removed the default account by going online to the Yahoo or Gmail settings and selecting the "delete account" selection. That was a while back, so I'm not sure if the actual menu configuration is the same, but I do know that Yahoo, Hotmail, etc and Gmail users can still remove their accounts online via their computer.

After creating backups for the contacts, etc, go into your phone and you'll be prompted to begin a new account.

I have a similar but not quite the same issue. I have an email account set up that sends and receives fine, but it doesn't notify me when new emails arrive. I have notifications turned on and set for the email account, but nothing.

Any ideas?

Hey, I have excately the same problem, has anyone got a solution?
