Not sure whats going on but my total amt of apps exceeds amt of internal storage...I assume theres more to that then I understand....However Email shows 2.81 gb total
23.73 mb apps
2.78 gb Data

Why would it show so much data? I thought actual emails are kept on server....Some how need to delete all this off of phone without loosing acct log in info

Appreciate that I'm using stock email app doesn't appear to have that option also seems to be saving all deleted emails in trash folder.......I always thought the email apps in just read the mail and don't save it to the phone

I guess your email app saves all outgoing mail to 'Sent' by default without the choice to disable it. I suppose they figured very few users would want to disable it anyway. Looks like you'll have to clear out Sent manually, but remember, if the folder is set to sync you'll delete sent mail on the server too.

If this is a Gmail account (and some other accounts also) the default behavior when deleting mail is to send deleted mail to a Trash or Deleted folder first rather than actually deleting it immediately. From there, mail must be deleted before it's really gone. This is intended as a fool-proof measure, to give you another chance to retrieve accidentally deleted mail before it's actually deleted on the server.

Some email clients, such as AquaMail, offer different ways of dealing with deleting mail including immediate deletion on the server.

Im using the stock app that comes with phone...now it seems that the sent and trash folders are emails sent or deleted using phone app...I may be wrong but emails sent or deleted when using email which is a webmail system from my isp do not appear to be in the folders on phone...Ive been just assuming that all these "files" in these folders is where the 2gb of data are
