So I see that there is Email and GMail. I have done some research and (correct me if I am wrong) it seems that GMail is designed for GMail accounts only. You load your accounts in the Accounts section and select "Sync GMail" to have your mail pushed to that application. This application only works with your GMail account.
On the other hand, Email is designed for any email account (GMail, Yahoo, etc). This application allows you to specify when to check for new messages (regardless of whether you connect IMAP or POP).
If these understandings are correct... would I then be able to save on my battery if I turn off all of the "Sync GMail" options (leaving Contacts and Calendar on) and simply use Email to serve as my email application and only check every 30 minutes or so?
It just seems annoying to use two applications for mail.

) but when I go back into the gmail client it still sees the emails... is that just going to happen or should I not see email in there?
