Email will not operate

[Android Question]

Verizon Motorola droid maxx old trash emails deleted and now will not open email under any operation. Icon will not launch email, but when launched from settings app, looks to reconnect with the accounts which fails. Suggest, comments or recommendations appreciated.

Delete your account and add it as a new one.
