Email won't automatically format, why?

I can't find a fix for this anywhere and its driving me crazy, when I had a iPhone my emails would automatically format to my screen so it was readable and I wouldn't have to zoom in and out to read my emails. Why with the Nexus 5 stock email app and yahoo email app cant it automatically format to screen? Is there a fix anywhere or am I stuck? Thanks guys for your input!

Define "format". It should be easily readable in landscape mode.

or portrait mode.

@op, if you use web browser to view mail, you may need to zoom in etc, but since you are using the stock app (I don't know about yahoo, but I'd assume it will work the same), it should show you the Email "properly"

As Rukbat asked, define format, and share a screen print if you can to show the issue.

By format I guess I really mean fit to screen, here is a test email I sent to myself so you guys can better understand. Thanks again!

Now the same exact thing happens with the stock email app as well. I have to pinch out to be able to see the whole thing but then the font is unreadable, with my iPhone it just automatically made it fit to screen with readable font.

I've never used the stock email app, but I don't remember having this problem with Gmail when I used to use it. Aquamail, which I now use, has a setting to make it fit the message properly to the screen. I would expect most email clients to have such a setting.

I assume that is not the stock Email app (my app looks very different) - is that the yahoo app?
If you are seeing the same behavior on the stock Email app, maybe try to clear app data and see if that makes any difference.

Are you rooted? If so, have you changed DPI settings or any other system settings?

The stock Email app doesn't have such a setting (nor does the gmail app). The text just wraps around at the end of the line (unless there are images in the Email, which can't be wrapped around)

Alright guys that seemed to of fixed it was clearing the cache files on the stock email app. I got rid of yahoo. Thanks for all your help! Problem solving!
