Help Email won't sync, Keyboard won't make typing sounds

For some reason, since the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3, I haven't been receiving emails automatically, I have to manual open the app and click sync. Within the email app settings, it says syncing is ticked, but the phone disagrees with this in the main Settings app under 'Accounts'. Any idea how I can make it autosync again?

Also, since the update, I haven't been getting keyboard clicking noises even though the settings say its enabled. All volumes are turned up but it doesn't tick when I press a key

Cheers, hope I've put this in the right area

If the SYNC is set ON, and you still don't get mail updates, you might need to factory reset the device, due to many left over system and setting files from the previous OS, colliding with each other.

As for the keyboard sound, assuming you are on stock Samsung keyboard.
Open any app which prompt key input, like SMS, once the keyboard appear, click the little GEAR icon at the bottom, next to your Space bar. Go to Advanced setting and make sure Key-Tap sound is checked.

Then go to System Setting - Sounds - and look for Keytones (play tones when key is pressed). Also, under VOLUME, make sure SYSTEM is not set to minimum.

Thanks for quick reply, you fixed the keyboard issue so many thanks for that!

Regarding the email, I took two screenshots to show you the settings I have...

I can't seem to find a way of enabling sync, do you reckon I need to do a factory reset then?

Go to System Setting, scroll to Accounts. Open GOOGLE, and tap your mail address (the phone account).
There will be bunch of boxes, check whether your gmail is checked.

Let me know if it works :)

Sync is disabled there too, and I can't even work out how to enable it, but anyways it was the stock email application that I wanted to sync. Reckon I should just reset the thing?
