Help Email works with WIFI but not 3G

Hi All,

New owner of a Shift 4G. Just came from a few years with Windows Mobiles. I am really loving the Android OS!

I am having one issue with my Shift. When I setup my pop email accounts, I was hooked up via my WIFI connection. I have two different accounts with different servers settings so I am going to rule out an ISP issue.

Both accounts work great when I am connected via WIFI but I get a network error message when trying to access email when only connected via the mobile network.

Anyone have any ideas? Let me know if you need additional info.

Most likely setup chose the wrong ports or SSL settings. When using the mobile network, you have to authenticate with your mail server to prove who you are. Via Wifi you are on their network already.

Recommend connect to mobile network only and add a new account. See what ports and other settings are chosen and then you can edit the other accounts to match.
