Emails dim after Jellybean update

Updated to Jellybean the other day and now email on phone remains dim despite the brightness being set to the highest. Didn't have this problem before update with email - is there anyway to fix? Thanks

It did that when i had power saving mode turned on in settings. Check that. ????

Settings>Display>Auto Adjust screen tone

If you want to continue using the power save options, go to settings>power saving and uncheck the background colour option.
