Help Emails have disappeared

My wife has a new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and her emails have disappeared. I can get them back by doing an advanced search but she says they were there when she first went on the email app. I've checked her 7" version & they're there by default. I can't find any settings she may have altered, any ideas please

If the missing emails are the older ones, I would look under Period to Sync emails. Look under email account, settings or some such.
