Downloaded apps? Like APKs? you may want to install from the market first, and then get familiar with ADB. But jumping in head first is the way I like to do it too.

Thanks Tyler - head-first is my way of doing things too - trouble is I can make myself look a right prat at times! Like now for example. I have actually installed the apps from the market (duh moment) but I cannot for the life of me actually find the blighters on my phone, much less use them.
