Emergency Alerts

Where I live we have had some severe weather and no alerts have come through on my AT&T S5. They are turned on but nothing... Any ideas?
 
Sign up for The Weather Channel, then set your profile to receive Emergency Alerts.

Far more dependable.
 
I can't find the setting any more. I got woken up twice last night by amber alerts so i wanted to turn it off permanently to get some sleep. I've found it once before and it had three levels - presidential, emergency, amber, and you could turn off the two latter. Has the option been removed in 4.4.4? EDIT: Found in the apps, rather than settings.
 
Stock Emergency Alerts app in the App Drawer. You can select/deselect Extreme, Severe, or Amber alert types in the settings.

I don't know if it ever was in the Android device setting, but it may have been.
