emoji?

I got this phone and when texting there was a little button to use emoji. Later that day I installed an update (4.4.2) and now I can't find the emoji button, nor can I seem to locate a setting that turns on emoji for me. Do I have to download an app for emoji now?

Most likely yes. It happens to mines. So i had to download a keyboard that supports emoji.
