So all of the posts I see related to using emoticons (in SMS, etc.) are for other phone types, and what works for them isn't working for me. Does the Xperia Pro keyboard support emoticons? I can't get any to show up. I've tried the Sym key (which does nothing), the Globe key (also nothing) and the Menu button.
 
Have you installed a different on screen keyboard? If so that could be the reason; I put better keyboard 8 on my Pro and the sym and globe key stopped working. Once I went back to the original keyboard the sym and globe worked again.
