Emulator Issues

I am using the Android Emulator by Google on my 32-bit Windows Vista computer. Whenever i try to load the .apk file onto the emulator I always end up with the following error message:

[COLOR=#800000][2010-11-25 10:59:11 - HelloAndroid] Launch canceled![/COLOR]

Thanks for your reply but that didn't really answer my question. I know how to use the emulator and how to run it, the problem is it won't let me load the .apk file into it.
