Help Enable SD Card Write Access?

Hi all,

I'm on Android 5 and a lot of apps warn me that they do not have write access to the SD card. This can include file manager apps, Dropsync, etc.

They each provide a handy guide to enabling SD card write access.

However, when I follow the instructions, my phone doesn't display SD card from available options.

Anyone know how to overcome this? I think I want all apps to have full access to the SD card.

From the menu where your pic is touch the three dot menu in upper right. See if it says "show sdcard".

Thanks, will try...

It says "Hide SD Card" so I clicked that.

Then it said "Show SD Card" so I clicked that.

Still not displayed.

That is strange. Are you able to browse the sdcard with your file explorer?

Yes, I can browse around the SD card with the File Manager app.

I can also move apps there, save files there, etc.

I'm wondering if some of the fixes you did were actually counter productive. The real fix requires root access and that can be a risky undertaking.
