Welcome to AF, Maria .
I've not post-encrypted a device before, but I can well imagine that it could take a while / some time...let it run since interrupting it would seem like a bad idea (i.e., don't reboot or power-off).
Did it say anything when you started the process?
Yes it is charging but i cant see any status bar or anything... I really don't know what to doIs your S4 plugged-in (either to wall-charger or USB port) so that it's getting charged while this is going on?
Also, I wouldn't think this would matter, but is it still on the (Settings?) screen where you started this process (I'm guessing it's not giving you a progress/status bar, etc.)?
Maybe the process is actually sleeping/"dozing" and not making much progress because the device is in sleep mode (i.e., the screen is not on, etc.)...
I know encryption is not done because the screen is showing the android symbol just like what you sent. And before encrypting i sent my phone to a company cause it wasnt working properly so they updated the software which means i dont have a lot of data. Also i cant go to settings because the screen stays white with the android symbol, it doesnt appear to be charging when i plug it into my laptop (no red light, not appearing on my computer...)Did a little more research:
- You should be able to go into your Settings app -> Security -> Encryption section and see what it currently says about your device.
- This page indicates that when the encryption process completes, your device will reboot. Interrupting the process will likely cause you to have to factory reset.
- You should be presented with screen similar to this when the encryption starts:
Did you see this at the start?
I guess im gonna do that. Did you lose data/did something change?Coincidentally, I too started encrypting the same device over night. Ten hours later, this morning I decided I'd had it and knocked the battery out the back. Upon trying to reboot I got a message saying encryption failed, factory reset device.
I guess im gonna do that. Did you lose data/did something change?
after i clicked encryption It took Up to 3 Hours or less to open home sceen and when i look in settings its says not encrypted and when i reboot it its getting in a loop and not coming home. i think i should flash it again.
