end of my contract

I'm coming to the end of my contract with Verizon for my S3.
Thinking about either S5 or N3. I'll probably stay with the Samsung family since I now own Samsung phones, tablets, flat screens, what else...
I have a note 10.1 tablet that I use for notes and navigation and stuff. It's on Verizon too. That's why I was thinking about the N3 phone. I haven't been in to a Verizon store yet, I thought I would start here first.
Any suggestions? I'm leaning towards the N3 just because of the pen.

I wanted the pen, but I waited too long and the promotion for it dropped off, so I went for the S5.

I have been very satisfied with it, but still wish I could "write in long hand" when taking notes.
