Help Engaged, or what?

So it's a landline you can take anywhere? What a time to be alive! :D

I'm not sure if you don't understand what voip is, or if you're just trying to be funny. Most business phones are voip these days, and are not connected to a landline.

A Google search seems to not support that entirely as of now, but I have no doubt it will be the case in the near future. A lot of smaller businesses still have a PABX and use the PSTN for their telephone service. Both of which have been electronic/digital for a number of years.

Apologies, I didn't mean to be snarky - I think 'lockdown' is getting to me, so please forgive my flippancy. Yes, I'm familiar with the concept of Voice Over Internet Protocol, having used it when gaming in years gone by.

With regard to the tone(s) I heard which started this whole palaver, I got them when I dialled the old mobile numbers tommo47 posted as well as the two landlines (which, admittedly, is what I've assumed they are on the basis of them starting with 01 in one case and 02 in the other), so I'm none the wiser.
