Enterprise use on Android

Hello all,

From what I can tell, VZW will be getting some decent Android phones soon and specifically the HTC Hero.

I've been a long time Blackberry user and was wondering how Android works within an enterprise. My phone connects to my work e-mail through a Blackberry Enterprise Server and the functionality is great. Work e-mail, appointments, tasks, contacts are all pushed quickly to my device.

Will an Android phone have similar functionality? How will it "sync"? Is it a manual process or can it be setup similar to a BES?

I recently moved from a blackberry to a Hero. Setting it up was a breeze. I didn't have to contact the IT guy to add me on BES or anything. Contacts, Calender and email sync'd fine. The only problem i have is i cant do a look-up. I don't know if this is possible or not.
