Envelope icon disappeared from the notification area

Hi All,

Would appreciate your help.

Few days ago my nexus 4 stopped notifying me when a new email arrives.
Until now, the notification would appear by an envelope icon that appeared on the upper left side of the screen.
Other notifications still works and appears in the same area (whatsup, text msg. Etc.).

Please your help,
Any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks,

I've been noticing this same problem with my nexus 4 running 4.3. If I delete the app data for gmail, the envelope will appear for 1 or 2 emails but then it goes away again. I think it's a bug that needs to be fixed with a software update. As far as I know, there isn't any fix. But hopefully that ends soon.

You're sure that you have notifications enabled for your e-mail account(s)?

Open the e-mail app, menu .. Settings, tap the account name, scroll down to Notification Settings and check that Email notifications is ticked.

Don't forget if you are using the new inbox tabs you need to set up notifications for each tab separately in the gmail app too :)

All,
Thanks very much for your prompt replies.

"Duncs", thanks for your advice.
I had switched few days ago my inbox view and separated it to 3 tabs.

The notification settings weren't set for my "primary" inbox/tag what caused the above problem.

Anyway - problem solved! :)

Thanks,
